I frequently browse pawn shops for good deals, and usually turn up with nothing.

I walked into the local pawn shop last week and saw sitting behind the counter 4(four!!) Definitive Technology Mythess One towers waiting to be put on the floor.
I checked them out, all worked flawlessly.

They sound phenominal. The clarity and tone of these speakers is amazing.

Do any of you guys have any experience with them?

It is interesting on some Pawn shop audio pricing. I once picked
up a pair of Definitive bi-polar surround speakers for $30, retail
was $500. Enjoy them!

so for 180 big ones I am now the proud owner of 4 of these babies.

No freaking way. Those are retail @$1000 each.

And you got them for $45 each? No way.

I hate you.

I have gotten a number of good deals over the years at pawn shops. Sometimes they didn't know what they had-other times they did not know how to hook it up-and thought the product was defective-so they got rid of it cheap.

Sad to think what the person pawning / selling them got .. their loss, your gain ..

I bought it for 40 bucks when the dog tore up the speaker in my powerfield 15. its actually not bad for what it is, no real complaints with it aside from the fact that it just isnt as amazing as the pf15.

Great find! I had a pair mated to a Mythos Eight for a while. I paid $700 for a pair of floor models and thought I got a deal. Got all my money back when I sold them.

I had a pair of the grey grills and Def Tech emblems new in the box. PM me if you need them and we can work something out.
