Output capacity is limited by displacement. 500 cc Vd is 500cc Vd whether its a 500 sq cm cone with 1mm excursion or a 50 sq cm cone with 10 mm excursion. The problem with small drivers is that modulation distortion is proportional to excursion, so there does come a point where bigger is better.

But hell, what do I know? I'm bias!

Thats even more insidious as they cunningly give themselves permission to be shills for companies they sell products for.

Or all the attention very expensive DACs in general are getting, considering the best $200 to $300 DACs have noise thresholds far below that of most audio recordings. And let's not even talk about jitter (LOL).

Everything a constant (i.e. materials used in construction), the bigger sub will move slower than a smaller sub because the bigger sub can handle lower frequencies and if there are lower frequencies in the signal that cannot be played with the smaller sub, it definitely will move slower.

Ticks me off that we need threads about what ticks us off. If the industry as a whole wasn't knee deep in BS, there wouldn't be a need to waste time, and energy debunking the "mysteries".

People who say that their views are not being taken seriously means there is an industry wide conspiracy against them. Most likely, you are just insane...which is why no one is taking you seriously.

True, you do not lose sound quality using banana plugs, but you can blow up your speaker if you are in the EU and you slide your banana plugs into your electrical outlet.

I really don't care what speakers you use. Guess what? I have a pair of Axiom speakers being use as surrounds right now.

I don't have one problem with you using Axiom speakers or anyone else. My problem is the pseudo science Axiom uses to justify what they do.

Just a quick example is the M60 midrange that breaks up at high freqs. They show a nice looking graph using LMS and caps the high freq response to 2k and say see we told you theres no breakup, but yet its above 2k that it starts breaking up and theres no filter from stopping it.

Knee deep? They must be taller than I thought...I nearly drown in it last time I went to Best Buy and had to take a shower when I get home...

It ticks me off because there is so much BS in the industry that for someone just getting into the hobby doesn't know heads from tails and for those who do knows whats up, they have to wade through all the BS...

What peeves me off is when I go into my local audio store just to look and browse and my salesperson I deal with wrestles my credit card away from me. Next thing I know, I'm walking out with yet another set of speakers. How dare he? When I tell my wife what happened she looks at me like I'm full off s***. The speakers always sound great once home, but somehow I feel violated.

I agree!

However, the only ID company I have seen that gives enough info (measurement wise) is Philharmonic audio. If I'm going to buy blind, I want to be knee deep in measurments! A single FR graph (on most sites) is not enough for me to buy blind!

A went into a best buy and stared listening to some of the stuff on the display racks. Figured: "Why not?" A sales man approaches me and we talk for a few. I asked him what setup he had. He told me he had Bose. I asked why he chose Bose over Klipsch. He said, and I quote, "Bose has highs AND lows, while Klipsch has only lows.

THANKS BEST BUY!!!

Geddes has really good measurements as well.
