so newegg has the mlt-1 5.1 set for 250...

i was thinking about slowly building up a set of polk audio monitors, but now this deal seems pretty sweet...

any advice?

Yes,

1) Hang on for a deal on the MLT-2s, the larger size significantly improves the sound quality
2) Consider trying out the search feature here and on Google, there's a lot of discussion about these

yah i did a quick google search, and didnt find too much...ill keep looking.

how much should a set of mlt-2's go for? how do they compare to building a set of polks?

MLT-2 comes on sale for around $300 at Newegg.com. Sign up for their email specials.

What Polks are you trying to compare them with? If you mean Monitor series speakers I'd rather go with the Polks. Even the Monitor 30's have 5.25" drivers and play lower than the MLT-2 satellites.

I have The mlt 2s. Id suggest svaing up for seperate components

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...
