Hey folks,

I've been given a pair of these JBL Model Control 24C In-Ceiling Speakers:
http://www.jblpro.com/pages/install/JBL.Ctrl24C.pdf

I am not an audiophile, so before I have them installed in my kitchen for music, I just want to check...these guys good? Are they comparable to a pair like the Polk Audio RC80i?
http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-In-.../dp/B00005T3BD

Thanks!

They will both sound different, and one thing to note - the JBL has a 4" woofer
and the Polk has a 6 1/2" woofer. The Polk may sound bigger to you, I will not
promote either one.

Those JBLs have really good off-axis performance, but also have a massive peak in the treble on-axis. If you will be directly below them, they might sound shrill, if you'd rarely be directly below they probably sound good and will evenly fill a room. No bass below 80hz either.

They were used for an audio conference room in the past, so that all makes sense. That's why I wanted to double check. Ok...I'll pass on the JBLs.

Thanks!
