Hi guys -

It's been a while since I've been in the loop and I need to outfit a small basement with 5 inwall speakers. I'd prefer the speakers to have an incorporated backbox. Any suggestions for speakers in the $100-$200 range each?

I've come across the following in searching the forums and online:
- SpeakerCraft Accufit IW7 Three and IW7 One
- Axiom M2 and M3 inwalls

Anybody have anything else?

Thanks

I have the Axiom M2 onwalls - which are VERY close to the inwalls I suspect...possibly the inwalls will sound a little better, not sure. There are also Axiom in/on walls as well, a hybrid so to speak.

I can say the onwalls sound great as surrounds. They have a very nice clarity and merge well with my Paradigm front three speakers. Not sure if they have the oompf to also act as the main front three speakers, though. Depending on your room size, they could be good.

I have never heard Speakercrafts, so I cannot speak about them.

I have to throw in EMP tek and RBH sound in there, the EMP tek EW30 On-wall Speaker are 208 a piece and they look to be some nice speakers, or RBH Sound TK-615 In-Ceiling Speaker which is 400 a pair have some great reviews as well. I have a pair of the floor standing speakers from EMP and enjoy them a lot. Both companies are the same except EMP is internet direct and RBH you have to find at a retail shop. Maybe give you a few more ideas to throw around.

EMP tek 5.1 theater setup, Marantz SR6006, Oppo BDP-95
Salk Songtowers, Emotiva XPA-2, ERC-1.

This is a horrible hobby!!  My wallet hates me, takes up to much space, neighbors want me to move, but man my house sounds amazing!

Thanks Mike, bitter and cybr

I also came across the Monitor Audio CP series of inwalls.

And how could I forget about Triads, but I can't find their retail price list anywhere

I think Monitor Audio and PSB have some of the best ones. Not sure about the prices.

From what I remember, Triads are not cheap...great speakers, but not cheap. Of course, I was looking at the wall sconce versions.
