Hi:

I am narrowing my field of speaker set-ups for my new construction home theater down to JBL Synthesis Array, Triad Platinum set-up, and one other...

I am interested in the JBL Synthesis K2 Array...

http://www.jblsynthesis.com/Products/Details/123

That set-up uses the K2 ($22,000 each) for the front 3 speakers (LCR) - for a total of $66,000.

Now, JBL just released its new Synthesis 4700 speaker ($10,000 each) - for a total of $30,000 for the front three.

I know it is too early to see if someone has heard them, or compared them to the K2, but is there really THAT much of a difference - according to specs

The speaker system is ONLY going to be used for movies and NOT music.

Let me know.

Thanks!

The drivers in the K2 seem a lot more esoteric, likely lower distortion. I cant see them being worth $20k ea more... Even at $10k those 4700's seem a little pricey, but they're likely outstanding for HT, and hey if you got the money more power to you. Would be interesting to see them compared with these, designed by the same guy who did the K2 line
