I'm deciding among the following 3 sets and any opinions would be appreciated:

A. Paradigm Sig S4 v.1 and C3 Center (used)
B. Philharmonic 2
C. Salk ST dome

I think the Paradigms look really good, and I can get a center for the same price as just the pair of Phils/Salks. BUT they are the Gpal tweets, not the Be tweets. Another thing is I've never heard any Salk or Phil speakers before and it makes me a bit nervous buying blind.

My usage is about 60/40 music/movies.

Thanks

How big is your room, and what are you powering them with (rest of setup)?

2800 ft^3.

Pioneer VSX-23Txh, 2x Emotiva UPA-1's. Will be sitting about 9 feet from the speakers.

I would most definitely go with the Philharmonic 2 over the ST...especially the ST with dome!

HAVE:

Receiver: Marantz SR6004
Speakers: Philharmonic 2; TagMclaren Calliope; Pioneer BS-22
Sub: W15GTI MKII (Tuned to 20hz; 300 liter enclosure) X 2

and location... It tends to get buried, but there is an awesome "I'll demo my speakers" thread. It's horribly underutilized, but seeing as its almost impossible to demo most ID speakers/subs, it may help knowing where you are.

We never grow until we're pushed outside the boundaries we are comfortable within...

I'll throw these into the mix as something you should try and audition.

Thanks for responses.

Does anyone know how I can find the thread of the shootout Warpdrv had a few years ago where he had Song Tower RT's and his S4 v1's at the same GTG?

Just my 2 cents but since my eyes are deaf, I always try to buy speakers that sound the best to me, regardless of their asthetics.

(my wife would voiciferously agree with that since she thinks my current speakers are hideously ugly BUT...I've caught her time & time & time again, grabbing the paws of one of the dogs and dancing with the dog in the living room while a good song was playing )
