Hi:

I have seen, but have never heard Swan speakers.

They look absolutely beautiful - the 2.8, 2.6, 2.3 models especially.

I have tried to find something about them on the Internet, other than what is on their website, and I can find nothing confused.gif

According to their website:

"...internationally acclaimed loudspeaker brand Swan Speaker Systems"

You would think that you would be able to find something about their speakers on the Internet then confused.gif

I am wondering if these speakers sound as good as they look.

Anyone familiar with them? Ever heard them?

Thanks!

Yup, there's definitely info out there. Sometimes they go by HiVi, their parent company. I own the M20W, a fine set of 2.1 speakers. Very good detail and clarity.

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

All of their speakers scale up quite nicely.

Here are all the swan dealer's specialties:

Diva Series
TAI: http://www.theaudioinsider.com/index.php?loudspeakers=swan-diva&cPath=21_22&

High End and Lifestyle:
Lockware: http://www.lockwaresystems.com/hometheaterspeakers-cat-11.html

High End and Ultimate:
ClevelandPlasma: https://clevelandplasma.com/store/swan_speaker/swan_speakers

Essentially, TAI is involved primarily with the Diva series (as he has worked with HiVi to design them). Lockware and Cleveland sell what each other does not. All of the high end that Cleveland does not sell, Lockware does and vice versa. Cleveland as well sells the Ultimate speakers that you are interested in.

I bought the T900F's from Lockware and yes, they "sound as good as they look"... and then some biggrin.gif

Swan Owners Thread: http://www.avsforum.com/t/857183/swan-owners-thread

HiVi is the parent company to Swan. HiVi is the driver manufacturer and merged with Swan to begin selling direct from them speakers. Their cabinetry is unparalleled as well as their sound. They own the largest anechoic chambers in the world. They are well respected and received stellar reviews across the board.

Good luck! If you have anymore questions about Swan/HiVi feel free to ask. I researched everything I could about them before making my purchase.

Hey, thanks.

I guess I was talking about "professional" reviews, magazine reviews.

I can find no professional magazine reviews of any of the Ultimate Series speakers.

I am really interested in the 2.8 (HT) and 2.3 (BF/BHT)

Give Clevelandplasma a call. You fly down to Cleveland Ohio and demo them. If you like them and purchase them, he'll pay for the flight. Otherwise, he'll pay half. He only carries the 2.3BHT though, and you have to buy the full set.
