Some speakers allow you to use banana plugs, but you don't need them. It's more for the convenience of plugging and unplugging them frequently. You would also need to verify what kind of connector the Pioneers need. Might as well stick to just plain speaker wire since there is no sonic benefit to the banana plugs and the plain speaker wire works fine. 16 gauge should be fine for runs 36 feet or less; otherwise, go with 14 or 12 gauge.

Does the brand of speaker wire matter much? I have Amazon prime, so if I can get it through there I can save on shipping. They have 100' of Pyramid 12 awg for $15, which is cheaper than on Monoprice.

Ok, ignore that last post. I read through the rest of that speaker wire article with the chart, and see that as long as the gauge is right it's probably fine for speaker wire. I ordered 100' of 12 gauge pyramid and a 15" media bridge subwoofer cable from Amazon for $25 shipped.

Shoot. I almost suggested Tartan Cables for a sub cable to you because they are available via Amazon Prime. Would be better quality than the Mediabridge for the same/not much more.

I just made an attempt to cancel the Mediabridge sub cable part of the order. If that works out, is this what you're talking about?

I guarantee you will love the pioneers and energy sub.
I just bought that setup except i use fs51 as fronts and sides amd bs21 as rear for 7.1

The fs51 is amazing and the sub is powerful!! I have the fs51 on tables and one on ky sub. You dont haved to have them on floor.

I have a high sectional so they have to be off the floor or the rightt sidr would be coverrd by couh

Yep. The Tartan Cables are very good quality for the price, comparable to the Monoprice that everyone here recommends. I've had Mediabridge cables. Sometimes they work well, but generally they not the same heavy duty quality.
