The basement is shaped like like a hybrid of Utah and Oklahoma, where by the room is a 13x13 square with another bit of space available for a pool table or wet bar. The room is finished, but I do plan on repainting and fitting it with light acoustic treatment (i.e. ceiling tiles, acoustic window treatment,...etc)

I very seriously doubt you'll find that it's too much for your room.

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

keep

is that to say i will ultimately be dissatisfied with purchase given the size of the room despite the acclaim the system is getting? or that they would simply be just right?

Thanks for the quick response btw

Satisfaction is going to be relative, and depends upon your own proclivities, so I can't answer that definitively. What I can say is a 5 speaker system consisting of 4 Verus Forte satellites and matching Forte center would not be too much for that room. If you like tremendous volume, or have a sub that can't be crossed over very high, you might find they're too small if anything. Even if the ceiling is 9 feet high that's still only about 1500 cubic feet, which isn't a tremendous volume of space, so it won't take a lot to fill it with sound.

Hello there,

Just to clarify we are talking about the Verus Forte Tower SD system correct?

That system comes with our Forte Towers up front, but even so I don't think it will be too much for the room and if you are doing a good amount of music then I would recommend it.

If you primary usage is home theater then you will probably be just as well off with something like the Verus Grand Bookshelf up front.

I hope that helps but please let me know if you have any other questions, thanks!
