I need some suggestions for a 7.0 speaker system for a 12' wide, 16' long, and 9' ceiling HT space. I plan to use an HSU VTF-15H sub. My budget for the 7.0 speaker system is $1500-$2000.

60% movies
40% music (jazz, classical)

Thanks in advance for your recommendations.

Here's a recommendation:

A pair of PSB Image T5 speakers, four Image B4 speakers, and an Image C5 center speaker.

Those will run you $799 + $540 + $320 at Saturday Audio Exchange.

Have you considered the Hsu 7.0 package for under $1200 delivered?

Unless you listen to lots of 2 channel music, floorstanding speakers are overkill if you get a 15H. The sub will handle all bass under 80hz and do a much better job than any speaker.

Smasher,

Probably 50/50 to be fair. Not familiar with NHT or Ascend, but I'll look at them as well.

I have also been looking at Axiom and Aperion speakers. Any feedback on those brands?

Still lurking looking. Also taking a good look at the EMP Tek tower system.
