Hey guys, im very new to audio, as well as this forum. I have seen nothing but just great threads on here about speakers and have done a lot of research.

So here we go:

Currently i own a pair of Klipsch Kf-28 towers i got from my work. Very good towers, and they sound actually pretty good. However, while the horn is efficient and all that, i prefer the sound of the silk and textile tweeters. I need more of a soft sound. I have looked into a bunch of different companies, and at my price range im looking for towers around $800. I plan to sell the Klipsches simply because i want a different look and sound. I'm also remodeling my basement, getting a new TV, new furniture, so i cant spend all my money on just the towers.

With that being said i have really liked the look of the Swans Diva 6.1 and Axiom M50s. I have not however, heard the sound of either. I am very new at audio, about a year, maybe. Im not sure exactly what to look for other than if it sounds good to me. The current amp i am using is an old Marantz 2220b. Any opinions on what speakers to check out? The nearest audio dealer is about an hour and a half away so i can't go there too too often. Thanks a lot!

What did you plan on using them for? HT? Music? Some combination of both?

If you take yourself too seriously expect me to do the exact opposite

Options:

- PSB Image T5 from Saturday Audio, $800

- KEF iQ90 from Vanns, $800

- Energy V6.2 from Vanns, $600 (amazing deal)

Or used as suggested can be great deals - if you're OK with this, where are you located?

For $900 you can get a pair of KEF iQ90 speakers, which were originally $1500, at KEF Direct.

KEF is phasing out that line now, and is discounting them heavily.

They are really excellent speakers for $1500; for $900 they are a taste of the high end for a real bargain price.

Highly recommended!
