Looking to put a small 2.1 system in my bedroom. I need some nice bookshelves for around $500 or less. Since they will have to be fairly close to the wall I was thinking front ported would be optimal (correct me if I'm wrong on this). I will have them hooked up to a tv and blu ray player but my main concern is music. Also, I don't normally care about looks, just how they sound, but since they're in my bedroom, a nice finish would be good. I liked the focal chorus 706v, but those things are fricken huge for bookshelves! Not sure if they are many other good front ported speakers in my price range, but I'm open to ideas!

Samsung un55js8500, Antec 51 inch Bias Lighting, Denon X1200W, L/R: Boston Acoustics A360, Center: Boston Acoustics A250, Surrounds: Definitive Technology SR-8040BP on 60 inch stands, Panasonic BDT220, Wii U, Comcast X1.

fwiw, nht absolute zeros $400 are smaller and are acoustic suspention designed (no ports) so they can be put close to walls. great sounding speakers but you will need a sub to accommodate them

Smaller than the 706, and still a good speaker for music.
Focal 705V - with a good special price

Also, look at KEF Q100 - if you call Vanns, they tend to
give a price break.
