What possibilities could you suggest for 70 percent music and 30 percent movies in a bedroom? I dont want a speaker system in which you buy as a set, because I am limited by money and I want to buy each piece over a period of a year. I would like some good low bass and some thump as well as the higher frequency sounds.

Some speakers I have come across are:

HB-1 MK2 Horn Bookshelf Speaker -Although I saw somewhere that the hb-1's wouldnt work well with other brands. If so, scrap it.

BIC PL-200 Acoustech Platinum Series Subwoofer

I also want them to have matching style.

I hope this isnt too demanding. Thanks!

How does the Bic, seem to match in style to the HSU speakers?
How much can you spend at a time?

Thankyou for replying, I was only pointing out what I liked as seperate possibilities, but not as a pair.

I can spend around 400 at a time.

Thanks smile.gif

i dont know if you consider buying used but there are lots of good stuff in the used market that are high quality and will not break the bank. nhts, b&w, psb and paradigms older models are very good sounding speakers, with that budget you can buy paradigm mini monitors, atoms or titans, psb image speakers, b&w dm303s, or nht super ones, these are great sounding speakers imho, the hsu and bic sub are plain looking subs that will match well with any of these speakers with grills on em if you get them in black,

Wait to determine the subwoofer once you are ready to buy, and consult the AVS subwoofer forum. There may be some specific deal at that time that you'll want to take advantage of.
