Saw a listing on Craiglist for a set of DaVinci 6.1 speakers and it caused me to look up the DaVinci speakers...over 50 sets for sale on ebay right now for between 50-500 dollars, some still in the original box. MSRP on the box states some ridiculous price like $2,499.00
Apparently these are one of the most common type of speakers for sale on the White Van these days!

I knew two people who got scammed by the white van.

One them was a coworker that showed up to work with the biggest smile on his face followed by "You'll never believe the deal I just got on a pair of speakers" His smile quickly vanished when I was able to verbally re-enact the whole transaction. Last time I saw him, they were being used in his garage.

The other guy bought them thinking they would make a good birthday gift for his dad. He didn't have the cash on him, so the white van followed him to the bank. The warranty info, along with a bogus phone number and address was written on the back of his ATM receipt. I think he ended up gifting the speakers even after finding out the truth about them.

Greed genes? Raising my hand, hi, I'm a greedy person and despite knowing I was being scammed, greed made me hope I wasn't being scammed when I purchased two sets of Sennheiser, IE-8's for a hundred bucks. I have since done penance and paid the full Amazon price for a single pair of IE-8's. Hope springs eternal, greed keeps popping it's head up, what ever, I'm guilty.

The knock-offs were terrible and the real deal are a pleasure to use.

DiVinci is a company that is deeply involved in music and saturated by sound. It remains one of the few significant hi-fi loudspeaker companies with a real pedigree in the pro-audio business. DiVinci is a name synonymous with the faithful reproduction of sound, live or recorded, at all levels.

DiVinci Innovative Sound & Bass is one of the all-time greats of loudspeaker design...

The only thing they are synonymous with is ripping people off. I bet there isn't even a DiVinic company probably just name badge only.

For the 5th time in the last month, a DiVinci system has show up in Eastern Iowa! I saw a three on Craigslist, one at a garage sale and now one at our local auction facility! I guess the vans have been hitting the MidWest hard...

Here (Atlantic Canada), there's a slew of "Sutherland Techonology" for sales in the classified. Of course, it's the same thing as the "Bergmann" or "Panamax".

I replied to one ad offering $20 (they were asking $650) and they replied back asking if I realized that that system was 1200Watt "total power" and that it was even better than Bose eek.gif
