Thanks in advance for helping. I just found a set of Polk Audio "Monitor Series" speaker (on the roadside!), and the only info I can find regarding the actual Series model is the "5JR" that starts the serial number.
Is this the way to tell what "model" or "product" theses speakers may be? Per Google searches the 5JR+ model seems to match up to the speakers. They have the 6 1/2" driver with the 6 1/2" passive radiator set up. They also have the "silver coil dome" tweeter. They came in the cherry finish with the old style "Polk Audio" badges in the lower left hand corner of the grilles.
Again, am I reading the serial number correctly (are these 5JR models?). Is anyone familiar with this speaker? A quick test on a spare system (Pioneer VSX-D309 receiver and Marantz CD player) showed them to sound pretty good, perhaps a bit bright on the tweeter though.
Any more info on these speakers, and my research would be greatly appreciated.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that I bought all this "stuff" to enjoy it!
