Just curious all. We all have the pair of speakers we may or may not dream of owning. Mine used to be the Focal Grande Utopia EM at $180,000/pair. Ever since I purchased 800 Diamonds I haven't dreamt as much.

How about you? What's your dream pair?

Focal Grande Utopia EM's? Now that's some dream. To me, that would be like having a week long hot date with an "A" list entertainer/celebrity of choice. tongue.gif

I have low aspirations and an even lower available budget and would be looking forward to a front three speaker set of Martin Logan, CLX Art, Klipsch, P27S surrounds and a pair of Paradigm, Sub 2's. With a center channel, that would only set our 401(k) back about ~$60k USD.

For now, I'd be very happy to get a set of Wharfedales Diamands 10.x, dual subwoofers and a Denon AVR with Audissey XT32!

I owned my dream speakers for about six years -a lovely pair of oak klipschorns- but then I moved and they didn't sound so dreamy in their new home. I ended up selling them, but the story has a happy ending as I am very satisfied with my current set-up. But if the opportunity ever presents itself again, opportunity being defined as a move to a house with a good room for cornerhorns, then maybe I could live the dream all over again!

I'm a simple man. I'd be happy with either the Salk SoundScape 8 or the Focal Electra 1038 Be. They're both beautiful speakers that can almost certainly outperform my appreciation. If money were no object, maybe the Revel Salon2. I'm no doubt in the minority when I say that I'd have a hard time justifying spending any more than that for speakers even if money were no object.

For me, it has been the TAD Reference One for a while.

http://tad-labs.com/en/consumer/reference_one/index.html

I would also need the room for it as well.

Magico Q7's (and a good room to put them in), that is, if I were to win the lottery.

I currently own my dream speaker, but if my budget and listening room were big enough I would get myself a pair of these.

I second the Meyer X10, but there are a couple of others worthy of note: Klein + Hummel O 410 & Quested HQ210. As for high dollar stuff, I think the YG Acoustics Anat Ref deserves a lot of credit. It's a pretty stellar speaker. I don't think it makes sense to spend ninety thousand dollars on a speaker but it's an awesome piece.

Soundstage named them as part of The Worlds Best Audio System of 2012.

I hated them at first, but I have grown to adore Vivid Loudspeakers. I currently lust after the G3 Giya. It is headed for my local dealer in the next few months. I can't wait to listen to it. I would take the G2 or G1 Giya if I had the money or space for it, but the G3 is much smaller and easier to work with. The price is also just a little bit easier to deal with than the G1 or G2. tongue.gif

When I heard the smaller Q5's a couple years ago at RMAF I was blown away. At the end of the demo piece I almost started clapping for the performer, no joke. Every time I have heard them since, I've had about the same reaction. These (the Q7's) are the Q5's on steroids.

IMHO, yes, they are that good.

For me right now, it's the KEF Reference 203/2. Almost half way there saving...

I am taking it in smaller steps. When I start looking at $30K+ speakers I better have a beach house and a Ferrari first!

IMHO, yes, they are that good.

I have listened to the Q3 extensively and it is quite phenomenal. It is insanely shrilly at first because the beryllium tweeter is so stiff. But after much break in they have begun to smooth out a bit and their sonic signature is phenomenal. My local dealer has the new Magico S5 which I will have to go check out soon. I'm hoping it's just as good as the Q3.

I'd love a pair of Totem Mani 2's, really an amazing speaker and not out of reach financially. Love Sonus Faber as well, esp anything from the Homage line. Back in the mid-80s I remember listening to an incredible system by Infinity, can't for the life of me remember the model but they were huge speakers.

Frankly my ACI Jaguar 2000s still put a smile on my face, I could live with them forever.

I had the same dream. I am now satisfied smile.gif

The only thing I would like now is a room that is designed, engineered and treated such as what one finds in a professional recording studio that is 50% of the sound.
