I have a 12x12x11 home gym and I am looking at changing out the speakers. I am currently using a pc for an audio source, Marzant SR5600 for the Amp, and a super cheap set of speakers from an Onkyo HTIB. I switched from ipod/headphones to the stereo about a month a go and I cannot take it any longer. The Onkyos offer poor sound and they get in the way, this space is very small for the amount of equipment I currently have in it.

Main music choice is heavy metal and there will be obvious room noise from lifting equipment. I do not need loud volumes, I just want something that sounds decent. I am looking to do 2 channel audio only and I am not looking for anything high end. I will be building a dedicated gym, and home theater, in my basement next summer. These are just going to be a hold me over and my current home gym will end up becoming a guest bedroom. I don't see a point in investing a ton of money when we may not even have audio equipment in the room after the move.

I was originally looking at the Axiom M22 v3 in-wall's but decided they were probably to much to be abandoned in 6-8 months. I am currently eyeballing the Emotiva UAW 8.2 in-walls but also thinking about the Aperion's as well. Anything else I should be considering in the sub-$500 price range?

I would take a look at the Atlantic Technology speakers here >
A real good deal - The IWTS-7 LCR

I do not know if the AV Science store, has this one or not.

I am going to recommend Monoprice.com for speakers (and a bunch of other stuff) at great prices. I put in 2 pairs of their outdoors this summer and have been very happy with them. Will be installing some in ceilings when the attic cools soon.

I would consider the Hsu in-walls as well.
