So its been a long time since ive upgraded (last item was the subsonic subwoofer).
I currently am running
Onkyo tx-sr307
Dali 3a MKii floor standing speakers
jbl sc-305 centre
DTX rears (chinese POS speakers that do the job)

So im definately looking to upgrade to bookshelf speakers (will be an upgrade in quality)
What i want to get is:
Cambridge audio S30's OR Subsonic SB1 Bookshelf speakers (cambridge audios are considerably cheaper)
Nad t-748 OR Anthem mrx 300
Subsonic XS2 x2
Chord Silver screen Wire

Now this equipment would be in place for a year or so before i go back to floor standing speakers (have to negotiate with the parents as to how much i can actually keep in my room due to loud noise im only 16)
So what does everyone think? maybe offer suggestions

... im only 16

really how long could it be? tongue.gif

IDK anything about the audio gear that is available down under but... Ive heard the NADs and they are the business, but they seem to have trouble with everything else, like video and ease of use same with the Anthem. If you read the reviews on here they are glowing but out in the real world people seem to have a lot of trouble with them... I'd stick to a bigger brand like Denon/Marantz or Onkyo. Harman Kardon if your are really into music.

Those Cambridges retail for ~200 state side and for that money I'd look used. IDK if they have craigslist where you are but you can get a ton of value used and its more fun to hunt for speakers.

Well where i work i can get cost price therefore they would be 200 new.
Im yet to listen to the nad vs anthem. Cost is a tad of an issue but im more keen of replacing speakers than receiver at this moment as my onkyo is quite good!

Whatever u can afford on speakers, stretch it. Your receiver is fine and has much less impact than the speakers. If the ones you mention are good enough, the bad news is you will likely be upgrading them again. Get some good speakers that YOU like. if not in budget yet, save, don't compromise.

I went wayWayWAY outa budget 10 years ago. So happy I did so, not that I don't dream of the next level. In the meantime I improve other aspects.
