Wilson Benesch launch what is materially the most advanced loudspeaker in the world.
Aesthetically, the Cardinal is certainly an object of natural beauty, born of truth to materials and functionality. Acoustically the sound is blisteringly fast and highly controlled throughout the frequency range, thanks to the advanced Semisphere tweeter and the latest incarnation of the Isobaric, a key facet of all Wilson Benesch flagships. The Troika Concept sees the acoustic centre of the Semisphere placed centrally between two stagger tuned mid range Tactic II drive units. Each unit is housed within discrete chambers that precisely optimise the function of each drive unit and overcome the need for any electrical filters. The marriage of the drive unit to the enclosure comes out of the companies integrated design and manufacturing capability. The company's obsessive concern for benchmark transient response measurements has previous manifested in other landmark designs including the A.C.T. C.60 and Trinity from the Wide Bandwidth Series. Both these designs incorporated the Sphere, super tweeter, a unique design that was patented by Murata. In the same Series there is also the Torus Infrasonic Generator that was patented by Wilson Benesch. The Cardinals curvaceous forms set new standards of stealth and visual strengths continue through the Aerospace finishes that are applied to the surfaces. As you would expect from a Wilson Benesch flagship, the design can be customised to meet the most discerning interiors where design is determined by function and performance.
