Hi guys.

I am trying to take this subwoofer,

http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-10-Inch-Monitor-Subwoofer/dp/B0002KVQBA/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1349743869&sr=1-1&keywords=powered+subwoofer

and these speakers,

http://us.store.creative.com/Creative-GigaWorks-T40-Series-II-2.0/M/B001S14DYO.htm

and connect them to my computer.

Before I get started, if anyone wants to offer any advice on a powered subwoofer, I am open to it because I have not ordered it yet. (My room is 15 by 12 feet - ish...)

Currently, I just have the speakers hooked into the computer using the little green cord. (Yes. I know I am very stupid with this stuff so just try to bear with me.)

I was told that would need these two cables to set it up, but I cannot find one of them on amazon.

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021804&p_id=665&seq=1&format=4#feedback

When searching for the first one, all I can find is a cable that splits the audio signal from stereo, to left and right. If I'm understanding it right, I need to split it from stereo, to two stereos.

As for the second cable. I believe this is it....

If you guys could help me out finding the right cables, I would be very grateful.

I don't know much yet about this subject and don't want to mess up my sound quality because of the wrong cables. Also, if you want to tell me that those cables are **** and that there is a better way to hook these all up, please feel free. Just make sure you explain it in a way that I can understand it! XD Thanks again.

You can't find them on Amazon because they are sold by Monoprice. Just buy them from the link you posted.

This one splits your computer output to two stereo outputs:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021808&p_id=667&seq=1&format=2

Take one of those jacks and plug in your Creative speakers.

Plug this one into the other:

Then use the other ends of that cable to connect to your new Sub.

Yes, and the first Monoprice cable does that.

Nope. You don't need that.

There are complete PC speaker systems that handle all of this, cables included, and aren't half bad. But if you already have the speakers and want to add a sub, this isn't awful. One small issue is that there's only half a crossover in this rig. A crossover separates the bass that should go to the sub from the rest of the sound that goes to the two speakers. The sub shouldn't get anything but bass, the other two should get everything but the sub-bass. In this rig, the sub has it's own filter that keeps audio outside the bass range out of it, but the other two get everything. It's not ideal, but not a big deal either. A packaged PC system has all of that figured out, but the Creative speakers you picked might be better than those in a packaged system.

Don't worry, be happy.
