Hey all. So I was watching the latest transformers movie, and in the scene where the shuttle is taking off, I noticed that my center channel had some distortion. I have contacted the company, and they're willing to repair it. But i started looking at it, and noticed that the speaker had crushed the wire covering, and I'm guessing the wire itself. Would this possibly cause the distortion I heard?? I changed out the wire today, but haven't had the chance to test this theory yet, so I'm asking the pros what their suggestions are. Thanks in advance!

Yes, even the tiniest contact between the wires would cause problems. Try it with the new wire. (Or just trim off the damaged part of the old wire.)

If it still doesn't sound right, hook the speaker up to another channel on your system. The point is to isolate whether it's the speaker, or that channel on your receiver.
