Hey guys i decided build pc fi for myself and i came here for help. This is my first time so i really have little knowledge i dont even know how this really works. After reasearching a little.I came with dac-amp-speaker combination with maximum of $1500.

I will be installing pc fi on my labtop because my desktop is mainly for gaming purposes. I really listen to all kinds music classic, pop, hip pop, almost everything.Right now im thinking jbl studio 530 speaker with teac ud h01 and amp which i couldnt decide. Do you guys think this is a good choice? If theres a better dac+amp+speaker combination under $1500 please help me to choose. Thank you guys!

Any reason why you want the expensive DAC? If this is for gaming purposes, do you have HDMI out from your video card? If so, you might want to go with a Denon, Onkyo, or Pioneer HT receiver in case you want to add surround speakers later on. Just send the digital audio from your computer to the receiver with HDMI.

Also, have you thought about adding a sub? Can really add to bass heavy music and games that have bass effects. Something like a HSU STF-2 could do very nicely in a smaller room. The HT receiver will also work better with a sub because of the bass management features.

Do you like lots of bass? Bookshelf speakers won't give you that alone. You'd need a sub, too.

Meanwhile, the best strategy is typically to put most of your budget toward speakers (and sub) over the electronics. That's where you get the best bang for your buck in audio quality.

Those are headphone amps. Won't driver speakers.

Get an HK 3490 and then Ascend Acoustics Sierra-1 speakers. Much better speakers than the JBLs. The HK 3490 has optical input and a built in DAC. Add a sub later on.

HK3490 is a 2 channel 120 watt stereo receiver with a built in DAC. If you like, you can always add a separate DAC later if you don't like the one in the 3490.

Doesnt' have USB. You need optical or coxial digital connection coming from your computer.

You could go with the KRK Rokit 5 + Rokit SUB10. For a DAC, I would recommend the Matrix Mini-I, which is a balanced DAC that can be used as a pre-amp for the KRKs. It also has a built-in headphone amplifier, which is a nice bonus.
