Does anyone know anything about these? Local guy has a set of these he claims are in a 9/10 condition and has gone on about how rare they are and how much better they sound vs. newer Polks and newer big box store speakers in general, and at a fraction of the cost..

im trying to piece together my very first real setup (only own a 12 year old Sony home theater in a box).. Iv been debating between some different setups (trying to stay on a budget) and came across these. Not really what i was originally looking for style wise, but the fact that they seem to have good reviews online and each speaker has a 12" woofer, i may be able to eliminate the need for a dedicated sub?

does anyone have these speakers or have had them or heard them? What are your thoughts? Im setting up a man cave / media room in my 20x20 garage with a projector and 120" screen. These would be my primary front speakers and then would have to add a matching center speaker (any ideas what would go good with this?) along with some rears and maybe a sub, maybe not?

You must be very new at this.

First make sure they are Monitor 11 and not RTA-11

Drivers: 1 - 1" SL2000 tweeter, 2 - 6.5" 6510 midranges, 1 - 10" fluid-coupled sub woofer
It's not a sub woofer it is a Passive Radiator and it is 10" not 12".
Passive means not powered it enhances (passes on) the low frequencies.
Yes it has good bass but not like a 300 watt 12" powered sub woofer.
They sound very good. Worth about $200 max in excellent condition

All of the drivers are still available from Polk Audio if needed.

6 Ohms Recommended Power: 10 - 200 watts per channel
6 Ohms speakers need a decent power source,100 REAL watts per channel receiver minimum.

Use Monitor 4's for the rear

Use CS2 for front center
