"While superb sound quality is the ultimate goal of any home audio system, the realities of budget and even aesthetics often force compromises in sound quality. Well, the time for compromise is over. Now you can have it all - great sound, great looks, small size, and an unbelievably low price!

The Monoprice 5.1 Hi-Fi Home Theater system surpasses all expectations for sound quality in a small package. The four satellite and the single center speakers each use a 3" poly-titanium mid-range driver and a 3/4" Hyperbolic aluminum dome tweeter. They can handle up to 100 watts of power and have an impedance of 8 ohms.

The satellites handle frequencies from 115Hz to 20KHz, while the center channel handles frequencies in the 110Hz to 20KHz range. The crossover between the mid-range and tweeter is set to 2.9KHz. The powered subwoofer features an 8" downward firing speaker with a Ribbed Elliptical Surround design driven by a 200 watt amplifier. The Ribbed Elliptical Surround design allows the speakers to produce higher volume levels with less distortion than conventional designs. It handles frequencies from 33Hz to 20KHz and uses a variable crossover from 40-150Hz.

The satellites measure only about 6.7" x 4.1" x 4.8" (HWD, including grill) and weigh about 2.9 lbs each, making them easy to mount almost anywhere. They come with both keyhole and 1/4" threaded insert mounting options, however the bass reflection port is located on the backs of the speakers, so optimal sound will occur when they are placed somewhat away from the wall.

The center channel speaker measures about 4.1" x 10.2" x 4.8" (HWD, including grill) and weighs 3.2 lbs. Like the satellites, it has both keyhole and 1/4" threaded insert mounting options. It uses two forward firing bass reflection ports, so can be mounted against (or within) a wall without any loss in sound quality.

The subwoofer measures about 14.3" x 12.3" x 13.2" (HWD) and weighs about 20 lbs. It features four large rubber feet, which keep the downward firing driver off the floor. It has a forward firing port, with a small blue LED at the top of the port to indicate that it is powered on. It includes both line and speaker level stereo inputs, so it can be used with any amplifier. A phase control switch on the back allows you to adjust the phase of the subwoofer in relation to the rest of the system.

So when looking for speakers for your home audio system, make the no compromise choice and enjoy superb sound quality and a stunning sound stage with the Monoprice 5.1 Hi-Fi Home Theater Speaker system!"
