I am thinking about getting the denon avr 1713 receiver. It has the airplay feature which I believe you have to have the denon plugged in directly through Ethernet to your internet which sucks. So basically do you have to have it plugged directly into your Internet to use airplay? Second if I use the remote app on iPhone or iPod to control the speaker would i still have plug it in to my Internet thought Ethernet? This sucks because my Internet box is completely across my home. And lastly if I do have to plug it in, I won't but is it still better than denon avr 1612 since its on sale for $20 cheaper? So basically is it still worth it if I don't use airplay? That's only if I have to plug it into my Internet box. Any help appreciated!

I can guarantee you that Airplay will not work if it is not connected to your network.

Not sure how the remote app works

1713 is better than the 1612 because it uses a higher version of Audyssey room calibration.
