Klipsch Reference series have been made in China for over ten years now. In fact, it was 2003 I bought a pair a Klipsch RF15's and they were made in China along with all other Reference models except the highest end models, Ref 3 & Ref 7. Those were still made in Hope. I believe the new Ref 7 II is now made in China also but if not, I am sure someone can correct me.

So don't worry - people have been enjoying Klipsch Reference speakers made in China for over ten years now. If these are the speakers you want, I am sure you will too.

Marantz PM15S2 LE, Oppo BDP-103, Simaudio Moon 100D DAC
VPI Traveler V2 with an Ortofon Rondo Blue and Simaudio Moon 110LP, Technics SL-1400 with an Audio Technica AT-14sa and Pro-ject Phono Box S
Dynaudio Focus 260's, Rel T-1 and a Panasonic TC-P54S1.

95% of all speakers are made in China now.

If you want some good speakers that are made in the USA, I suggest Vandersteen or Ascend.

Anyone know of any others?

I think Dynaudio speakers are still made in Denmark.

I love my Klipsch and wouldn't trade them..i was only surprised to see they are Made in China.
I had Monitor Audio before, and i think, like i say, i think they were made in UK. I had the RX Silver Series, but poor Monitor Audio compared to my Klipsch Reference, the Klipsch smokes it in the first round.

I think the RF-7 II are still built in Arkansas, USA but this might have changed. I have the RF-82 II system, RF-52 II, RF-35 system with 4 RB-25's as opposed to 2 RS-35's and absolutely love them

Because great sound fills the room, shakes the house, breaks hearts, stirs souls, and always will

I recently bought RF-7 II (Front); RF-82 II (Back); RC-64 II (Center); RS-62 II (Middle Back), and Sub SW-311 (First Sub) + Sub-115 (Second Sub), and all of this with Susano Amplifier.
It ROCKS my Cinema area.... wink.gif

I have the Monitor Audio RX-2 and they are made in China as well.
Which RX speakers did you have previously and which Klipsch model now? I am curious as I just aquired a pair of the aforementioned Klipsch RF82's on the bogo sale with an RC-62 centre, enjoying them but the jury is still out whether I like them more than the RX-2 and matching centre.
cheers

You guys need to get out and listen to speakers more.

If you do, you will find out how good speakers from KEF, PSB, Monitor Audio, Focal, and Vandersteen sound, and how poor Klipsch Speakers (except the Heritage series) sound by comparison.

Don't take my word for it; your own ears will make it very clear to you.

Checked my speakers

Made In...the garage. The parts inside are made in the USA, Italy, Germany, Denmark and the power resistors in Taiwan.

If you want something really entertaining, KEF is owned by the Chinese, Dynaudio is Hong Kong, Tannoy is China (Sound Group) and Samsung just bought out Harmon.

Oddly enough, if you purchase a Yamaha 18" PA subwoofer, it is made in the USA with drivers from Eminence (made in Kentucky, USA)

A lot of speakers use Chinese parts, remove the parts and you'll notice that with the markings on the magnets. I picked up a B&W and it said Made in China on the back--so never assume anything in audio!

Are there any actual British speakers owned by British companies left? B&W just got bought out by a bunch of American investors so the list keeps getting smaller.

You can get American Klipsch, they are the big dog monsters though--the shipping will kill you.

Damn, resurrecting a 4 year old thread? Why bother, I doubt the OP cares about your thoughts at this point.

I have since upgraded to Klipsch Reference RF-3 II system, huge upgrade. I upgraded the internal bracing, damping, and crossover networks.

Resurrecting a four year old thread for some Klipsch hate?

Anyways, I have done so, and my ears disagree with your assessment. The Reference II, and Reference Premiere are great speakers, and depending on the listening objective best even the Heritage line in some respects. However all speakers have characteristics which make them appeal to specific tastes. For instance, Vandersteen and Klipsch would likely never compete for the same tastes, even dollar for dollar.

Klipsch Heritage, Klipsch THX Ultra 2, Klipsch Pro, and the RF 7 II / RC 64 II are all American made. Everything else is China.

Until Trump makes America great again (tounge firmly in cheek) it simply doesn't make sense to make speakers of a certain price point and or distribution scale in the US.
