I have heard really good things about them. The problem is, they are discontinued, and the matching center channel cannot be found anywhere. Now i know it is recommended to match the center with the fronts, but I probably won't be able to do it in this case. What do i need to do to find a center channel that will work well with these speakers? Any recommendations?
The best match to a pair of speakers is another identical one.
"Standard" centre speakers are a compromise because most people can not accommodate the height of another identical speaker. To do it you typically need either:
- an acoustically transparent screen
- a tall space in the middle of the TV stand (you may have this)
- a really short speaker (you do have this - hopefully short enough)
In my case I have co-axial drivers so I am able to lay my centre on its side.
"Standard" M-T-M designs have off axis lobing issues in wide rooms.
Thanks for the info! I really appreciate it. So if this speaker can't be stood up as a center, then it is probably not a good idea. I think the spot it is going it may have to lay on its side.
