I currently setting up my Energy Take Classic 5.1 system in a 11'x12' room. All the info I am reading recommends the front speakers be placed at ear level and equidistant apart from the seating position. Is it ok to place the front left, front right, and center channel on a TV stand. The stand is only 4 feet wide and 20" high. My main seating position will be about 10 feet from the 3 front speakers and I don't have the option of moving closer since I have a sectional sofa. I will have room and money to get speaker stands to the left and right of the TV eventually but would this setup be ok for now?

Yes, better than nothing... I have the same issues with a corner placement.

My living room budget build: Samsung PN51E530 / Denon AVR1613 / DefTech PC1000 / DefTech PM60 / DefTech ProSub 60 / Dayton Sub1200

There's ideal placement, then there's the real world with budgets and actual floor plans. Will your speakers sound better once you get some stands and increase the distance between them? Yes. Does that mean they will sound bad being closer together on the ends of your tv stand? No.

If it's possible with your room layout, the Take satellites are also small enough to be wall-mounted - either directly via an actual speaker mount, or some type of a wall shelf/stand.

I would play around with them a little in different places. Those speakers are small enough where you should be able to put them on chairs or something to do trial and error. If you are sitting 10 feet away and have 3 speakers that are 4 feet apart then my guess is you may not realize the benefit of the 3 speakers.
