Hi everyone,

I have no knowledge of speakers & need your advice on the most simple & budget new/used speakers please.
My budget is under $200.
I use the speakers for trance music only in a small bedroom.
I'd need the most simple speakers sort of like plug & play from my phone/laptop with a regular 3.5mm jack, nothing too complicated please since i'm a total newbie in this world.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thats a tight budget for needing strong bass capabilities...

Amp $20

http://www.amazon.com/LP-2020A-Lepai-Tripath-Class-T-Amplifier/dp/B0049P6OTI/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1357111296&sr=1-13&keywords=2.1+amplifier

Speakers $70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882117405

Sub $110
http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?partnumber=300-628

You would just connect the wire from the amp to the sub, and then the sub to the speakers to incorporate it.

Hi Jay1,
Thanks for the quick reply.

I forgot to add that I dont play it loud since I usually listen to it after party, around 3 - 4am.

Could you please suggest a simpler system?
Thanks

My trance collection has some songs with HIGHS and some with Lows...soo hard to say which speaker would work best (at that budget too). But I Jay's advice seems to be best at that budget. Is it possible for you to save up a little more for your budget?

No subwoofer I've heard has been able to produce the bass I've experienced in the Corps!

Must..stop...buying...every bluray release...

I might be missing something obvious here...  My wife uses a pair of Klipsch Promedia 2.1's at the house.  She plugs them into her Ipod and puts on the Christmas music.  The house is an open floorplan so if she turns them up, it fills the space with "room filling sound" and frankly, sounds dang fine doing it.

I think you can get them at Bestbuy for about $150??

I liked their sound so much, I bought a pair for my sister in law once for Christmas and, when I moved to Florida to work on a contract, I bought yet another set for myself.  That's how my wife got a set, she wanted me to leave them with her so I just bought more down here.

Hi all,
After much further reading, I realized that what Jay1 recommended was a much better option as it's a passive system.

However, I'm looking for a compact & simple system, so I decided to go with the active system.

I listened to 2 Klipsch Promedia 2.1 systems, 1 at a store, 1 at my friend's house. They're pretty good actually.
Anyways, bottom line is I purchased the Audioengine A2 off their website. Can't wait to compare it against my friend's Klipsch Promedia 2.1.

Thanks all!
