Hi guys I'm sure this has been answered for other people since I've seen some posts but not the exact same config I'm thinking of.

I'm looking at getting a Denon 1913 and thinking of pairing it with Polks for all the 7.1.. my question is are these compatible ?

I'm still learning about clipping and under powering or overpowering and just don't want to screw this up and waste money.

Any suggestions would be welcome. I'm using Polk because Ive been told by many that they are reliable and decently priced

8 ohm speakers rated to 125 W/ch & powered sub...you should have no issues. Nice choice on the receiver too, just bought one myself. I will be using mine for 5.1 with a dedicated zone 2 for the deck.

just to clarify are you saying the speakers i chose are good because the rating is what keeps throwing me off..

There really are not speakers that are good for a reciever! Short of not pairing low sensitivity speakers with a low powered receiver, speakers don't sound better with certain receivers!

Set up #1: EMP e5ti, e5Ci, and SLS Q line Audio surrounds, EMP 10i10i sub
Set up #2: Def Tech SM450, CLR2002, SLS Qline surrounds and Klipsch 12wD sub
Set up #3: JBL130, JBL120C and Klipsch synergy sub

zI think that'd what op wanted to clarify - that the impedance was matched to the receiver, which of course it is. The only issues I could see would be playing car audio speakers which are too low impedance and would cause clipping and overheating.
