Really want to upgrade my speakers , connect to Onkyo AV 600 series ..
Have old Paradigm v2 Mini Monitor with sub, mismatched old system....

Was hoping to get enough $$ for HSU Ultra 15 system, but cannot afford it now...

http://www.hsuresearch.com/products/ultra15pkg.html

Really like loud thumping movies and music..

Any recommendations perhaps?

Room Size: 15 x 25 x 9' ceiling
57" LCD, Onkyo/PS3

How about this system:
Hybrid 15 3.1 + two Infinity Primus p163 bookshelf speakers for surrounds = $1682 shipped. The VTF15h is a louder subwoofer than the ULS 15 so I would think this is more in line of what you want.

I added a picture, and am still have not decided on a HSU package ...so bumping

Hybrid 5.1 ($1300( vs Ultra 3.1 $14.99 (and use my existing surrounds, Klipsch)

Not certain the exact difference in the subs, VTF4 MK4 vs ULS 15
thanks

The ULS is a sealed sub which is more for audiophiles and those who need decent performance but can't handle a huge sub. If you can fit a larger subwoofer, go for one of the VTF subs, they will get louder and hit harder, and would likely be more satisfying for home theater. I would also use the existing surrounds that you have if they are Klipsch. If you can accommodate it, go for the VTF15h. You might also think about dual VTF2s if you can't handle a sub the size of the VTF15h.
