I'm going to be putting together my first surround sound system in the new 16 x 16 den that I'm almost finished building. I haven't decided on the TV yet but it will most likely be a 55 inch LCD since it's a bright room. First I decided on the Energy Take 5.1 speakers but since the Onkyo 515 was recommended to me and it's 7.2, I'm thinking of a 7.1 system. I say the Monoprice 5.1 speakers and now I want to use them. I have a few ideas all using the Monoprice 5.1's

1. Add one pair of the Monoprice bookshelf speakers for the fronts, http://www.monoprice.com/products/search.asp?keyword=bookshelf+speakers
which one do you think would match up better?

2. Add two Energy Take 5 speakers available on Ebay for $88

3. Buy two sets of Monoprice 5.1's, use two speakers and maybe the other sub and sell the rest on Ebay.

I'll be using it for TV, movies and music. Do you think this would be OK in my room? What option do you like best?

Thank you. I was planning to be ready for the Super Bowl but the weather has killed my schedule.

IF you already have the Energy Take 5 speakers, then get another pair of the same to go 7.1. Why buy something different and have the sound change when it pans around the room?

It'll cost you $100 shipped for a pair of take classic speakers on ebay.

Might as well buy another 5.0 for $150 and sell the remaining 3 speakers yourself.

Right now I don't have anything, even the room isn't finished. From what I've been able to read, the Monprice and Energy speakers are the same with different name plates. I like the idea of using the larger Monoprice bookshelfs with the 5.1 system, and I also like the idea of getting two Mono 5.1's and having two subs. Mono offers 30 day so question returns so I figure I don't have too much to lose.

Then get the Monoprice speakers instead of the Energy speakers.
