Thanks for suggestion. I figure out it was good deal on that receiver and don't know what future can bring. Maybe better speakers. On other side I would never be able spend $2-3K on speakers. That just wouldn't happen.

I just plugged in everything.. havent done any setups yet.. started Batman The Dark Knight Rises" and I am blown away!!!! Now, I totally understand people who are saying for real thing go 3.1 or 5.1 or even higher and skip on sound bar! WOW.

I have a feeling that soon I am going be ordering tower speakers for front and moving bookshelf speakers as my surround ..

DAMN!

I am assuming I will have to go with Energy towers since my central speaker is Energy CC 10 and I would have to much that one, correct?

You should match your center with Energy C-series speakers so yeah the CF towers would be best.

That's an expensive receiver considering the speakers you chose, but it's good you're enjoying the sound, as that's what it's all about. You should get main speakers from the same series as your center.

I think the point is...if you buy a GREAT receiver and average speakers, your system will sound averarge. If you buy an average reciever and great speakers, your system has a chance to sound closer to great. All a great reciever gives you is more bells and whistles and maybe more power...but speakers will almost always be the limiting factor in a sound system!
plus, the features available on receivers is changing rapidly...spekaer technology changes have been much slower. Your speakers will likely stay "in style" for much longer than your receiver.

I think you should worry how happy you are with the sound than what you paid. As you said, this setup will be very nice in your apartment for movie watching. Enjoy your purchase!

Hi there. Thank you for your input. Since I'm newbe to all of that ..... What would u suggest as good receiver under $500 price tag?
I'm not going to lie that this pioneer has most likely more futures than I ever will need. I still love it smile.gif

But not having much experience, what would work equally good for my setup? At some point I will go 5.1 ch. thank you.

Don't worry, I just reentered the world of audio a couple years ago and have made every mistake in the book...in fact, I bought a set of Pyle Pro speakers, perhaps the worst piece of crap ever made and a couple really cheap ipod devices before I realized I needed to learn a few things to spend my money more wisely! I have progressed through Pyle Pro crap (retired) >> SLS Q line speakers (great little speaker) >> Polk M40s (less crap, but now retired) >> Def Tech SM450 (very good) >> EMP e5tis (excellent for my mid sized room). So as you can see, I have a full set of "crap" speakers that I bought for the wrong reason (cheap) and now reside in the bottom of one of my closets! So don't feel bad!
Really, the AV receiver will be whatever you want- if you want something that is network ready, if you want preouts (if you think you might get an external amp at some point), if you want 5.1, 5.2, 7.1 or 7.2. How much power do you feel like you needs (Cb10 have decent sensitivity, so you don't need much. I would recommend decent power (60-75 watts/channel, some sort of room correction software and hdmi, which just about every decent AV receiver has...after that, it is up to you if those extra features are worth the money!
