Wow, big difference. Kef does excellent on both music and movies and the R series are highly regarded and I am assuming you have a good sub or two to go with them. I have not heard either but try to audition all you can.

Main Kef: Reference 205/2 & 202/2c, Surrounds: Kef XQ40, Velodyne Optimum 12, Integra DHC 80.3, Ayre K-5xeMP, Oppo BDP-103, Bryston 4Bsst2, Parasound Halo A31. Second B&W: 685 (3), CCM618, Def Tech Powerfield 1500, Onkyo TX-NR1008, Zone 2 Klipsch AW650.

I compared the Studio 60 to the R700 at the same store. Now, that is no a fair fight, because the r700 is much more expensive. I did prefer the Kef. It had a warmer sound in its midrange, better bass, and seemed to stay composed at loud volumes. The Studio 60 was no slouch, and it can defintely play loud. Try to audition if you can.

Yea... Im not sure they have thr kef's locally . The store that used to have them is no longer there... But i have heard the paradigms... And was very pleased..but my last setup was deftech sc7001 i beleive... And i wanted yo get the kef reference r205... Someone stole my old setup about a year ago... Mcintosh amo/pre-amp.. All deftechs.. So now im just building a
smaller setup.... Thinking about going with cambrige audio intergrated..or mrx700 from anthem...
