Hello!

I have had a pair of floor standing DCM TimeFrame TF-600s since the early 90's. They are in great shape and still sound wonderful. I have been contemplating selling these bad boys and putting the money towards a really nice sub since my current set-up uses in wall speakers.

Any idea what these guys would sell for, or if there is even still a demand for them? I have read on various other forums that DCM speakers are no longer made, or maybe they, are - but not the same manufacturer? Should I hold onto them?

I'll put a couple pictures up.

Thanks!

They are pretty big. The tv is a 60", so that should give you an idea. I'll get some close ups too.

I sold a pair in very good condition with Pecan wood tops and bottoms several years ago. I removed the speaker spring clips and replaced them with regular binding posts prior to selling them for $275.00 a pair.

I think it might be a mistake to sell them. I don't think you'll be able to find another pair of speakers that would sound as good to you as these do at anything like the price you'll get for them used.

Just to mention the DCM logo should face in so the left and right are reversed in your photo.. They really shouldn't need to be toed in much if at all.

Your DCM's are going to be hard to beat and you won't be able to get a lot for them. I bought mine a few years ago for $150. Best audio purchase I ever made. Just save up for your sub.

Dumb enough to spend lots of cash on this junk!

Those TF-600s go back to the Steve Eberbach days. My 5:1 consists of two Time Window 3 towers, two CX-17 bookshelves and a Soundscape center. I've got friends with more modern, upscale speakers but they still comment how warm mine sound after over 20 years. Store the TF-600s if you're not going to use them and save up for the sub. One day, you'll dig them out and wonder why you did so.

Also, check out the DCM thread for a better appreciation.

Thanks for the feedback, guys. Well, in the pics they weren't plugged in or anything. But, I got curious after reading up on them a bit more. So, I connected them (mine do not have the spring clips, rather the binding posts).
They sounded good, but not like I remember. So, I held my ear close to the tweeters. I didn't hear anything coming out of any of the tweeters on both speakers. There is one in front and two in back, and I didn't hear any of them. I wouldn't even know if those parts are available for replacement, or if something happened internally with the wiring. Not sure where to go from here.

Look for Jamie Hauser on the DCM thread. He's the resident DCM guru around here. He could tell you exactly what is wrong.
