BTW, I am new here and kind of a novice to this sort of thing.

My living room is fairly small, maybe 20 by 20 feet

I am debating between the Bower and Wilkins 685
http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Speakers/Home_Audio/600_Series/685.html

or the B&W cm5
http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Speakers/Home_Audio/CM_Series/CM5.html

I have a Yamaha RX-V373 receiver and I want to start with the front speakers first.

Eventually I will get a new woofer, center speaker and rear speakers but for now I will continue to use my old yamaha nsP 220 speakers for rear and woofer and will take out the center completely for now.

Or if you guys know of any comparable speakers in quality that are less expensive so that I can get a new woofer as well, that would be awesome.

I will be using the sound mostly for movies and music obviously.

Thanks

Might get a better response in the B&W owners thread:

Ok, for those interested, I just listened to the Klispch RB51s and they sound really nice and its on sale for about $420 a pair.

Obviously, they are not as good as the B&Ws but damn, for the price difference, the question I have is...

Is the difference between RB51 and B&W CM5 really $1000????

I'm a big fan of Klipsch so I've got no comment...  the important question (to me) is, price aside, which one sounds better to you?

Why not listen to a few I mention here,

Fantastic reviews for all but only your ears can decide.
For long time non fatiguing enjoyment.

Monitor audio rx2

Focal 807
Or 806

Check out awards lower in the same page.

And these

Lastly

Usher 520

You'd have to do a search to get to hear them all locally from maybe more then one dealer.

Good luck
