I purchased the NHT Classic 2 bookshelf pair and the TwoC center channel. The center channel is placed in the TV cabinet below the speaker (see below). I just installed the speakers and not quite sure how I feel about the sound.

Based on the photos below is there anything wrong with the placement? I'm worried that the space available to the speaker is not enough in regards to height. [IMG]

Can the speaker come forward to be flush with the front of the cabinet? It looks like the top/bottom edges of the cabinet may be obscuring the sound. (Remember the sound throw is conical from the speaker, not parallel.)

^^^ Agreed. The front baffle of the speaker needs to be flush, or in front of, the cabinet face. If not, there will be a lot of diffraction created from the cabinet and the sound will suffer. It is not ideal (for any speaker) to be placed in a cabinet and pushed further back. It also looks like from your picture that the cabinet does not have a large enough opening (top and bottom) for the sound to clear the drivers - much of the sound is reflecting back into the space.

I can remove the 3/4" style that is on top and bottom of the speaker but that still will not allow the entire box of the speaker to clear the opening.

Do I need a different center with smaller drivers?

Sorry for being so late on this, just noticed the reply. Did you figure out a solution? Curious what you came up with or are you just living with it the way it is?
