Hey guys I'm pretty new to surround sound abs was wondering if I can get some good advice on how I should set up my surround sound. What I have is
2 klipsch rb-35
2 klipsch quintet iii speakers
Quintet iii center speaker
Klipsh rw-10 sub
Onkyo tx sr508

I'm setting them up in a 18x15 room with vaulted cielings. Should I use the quintet as surround sound or the rb-35s? Or vise versa? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Usually you want to timbre match the front setup, but ultimately, it's whatever sounds good to you.

Try all Quintets up front and the RB35's in the rear.

Do you have an Audyssey setup on your receiver?

If it were me, I'd be half tempted to get a Klipsch center channel that would play nice with the RB35's and put the Quintets in the back for surround. Maybe sell the Quintet center to offset some of the cost for the new center.

I was thinking of upgrading my center as well i can get a good deal on a rc-25 so I'll probably get that, use the 35's as fronts and the quintets as surround, and ya I do have audyssey on my receiver
