I am beginning to a build a budget 5.1 system and looking for advice on a center channel.

So far I have the Def Tech BP8B FL/FR (love the sound) and I am looking for a center that will timbre match. I picked a Mythos Three but it is a mismatch, I am getting very poor voice response from movies. The BP8s overpower the center even with adjustment.

I understand that the Def Tech 8040 or 8060 would be a good match but it kinda kills the budget at 499 and 699.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Save your pennies and get the Def Tech center, either one............many people on this forum will suggest getting either 3 identical speakers for L/C/R (or at least staying within the same speaker family for all 3)...........

Yep...live with a phantom (non-existant) center for now and save your pennies to get same line of speakers for your center.
