I hope this is in the right place. Guys I have a 9 k budget, I am going to spend near $2500 on projector and screen which I am researching leaving $6500 left. I would like some oppinions on speakers 5.1 to go listen to no higher then 4 k. I would think this is a good amount on a speaker system. I can get a sub later if need be. I see some speakers that are 8 ohms and some at 4. Some amps say highter wpc into 4 ohms. Please keep in mind I will only be doing audio this one time and I like some thump. My master bedroom is where this is going keep in mind the size 20 by 15 and 15 by 10 is all one room with vaulted ceilings. I think the speakes should handle at least 200 wpc or would like them to.

Next question what is a good amp/ pre amp I will have about $2500 left maybe $1500 for amp 1k for pre amp I could go $500 higher if need be. Thanks

^^^^ I wish I had your budget ( and your bedroom space!!)......

Here's a thread dealing with main floorstanding full response speakers to start

http://www.avsforum.com/t/1437010/2-000-3-000-tower-speaker-comparison-need-help-picking-the-contenders-for-a-shootout

If you want "thump", though, you will need subwoofers, and at least 2 for that size area............many options abound from Hsu, Rythmik, SVS and Power Sound Audio ( these are the current favorites on this forum)

You can save some by getting bookshelves for your L/R and letting the subs handle everything below 80Hz......

Others here will hopefully chime in, as I personally have no experience with speakers in your budget range.......

I do not want inwalls. I see great reviews on Martin Logan ESL Electro static for $2200 leaving $1800 for center and l/r rear speakers. I also see MLTheos for $2500 with $1500 for rears and center, I can add sub later if I go this high end. I saw good reviews on thiel SCS4T. Dynaudio seem awesome also but for the money the other 3 may be front runners. I know I need to go listen to a bunch of speakers but figured I get some opinions to cut down on some time.
