Hello,

I am looking for some solid speakers to build my home theater system. I have DENON receiver 1909, and will get ESPON 3020 projector soon. It will mainly used to watch blue-ray movies (2D&3D), sing Karaok and gaming occasionally. My budget is around 1000 USD. Can any one have recommendations on speakers to fit my needs? I also have a polk sub (100W) which I'd like to replace as well. It would be great if you know some decent brands for that as well(I think it is better to have the same brand for sub and speakers). Thanks a lot for your help!

Oh, forget to say, I'd like to have two floor standing front speakers, not many preference for center and rear ones. Thank you all!

Is the 1000 for the sub + speakers?

Also, it is usually NOT advised to stay in the same brand for speakers. Reason is, most speaker companies make crappy subs, there's some exceptions, but in general, Polk speakers with Polk sub won't get you what you want.

People usually recommend internet direct companies like SVS and HSU.

Thanks for your info! I have 1000 spare in my budget, if that is not enough for both sub and speakers, I will use it toward speakers first, and leave sub for future updates. Which speaker brand would you recommend for around $1000?

fwiw, just a recommandation take a look at a pair of boston acoustics a360's (white with black grills imo look nice) $360 at accessories4less these are a great bargin for a pair of great sounding speakers then you can add the b.a a225c center (black)$150 and a pair of b.a a25 bookshelves (black) $160for the rears total $670. then with the rest of your budget, i would put away and save a few hundred $ more for a great sub from svs, hsu rythmik, or outlaw.you could also save some cash by buying a pair of pioneer sp-bs22 's for the rears $90 on amazon

i'm so laid back,i'm laid out
