Hello all. Long time lurker and now that I am a homeowner I am ready to start building a somewhat budget setup. This forum is the ultimate resource, thank you to all who contribute.

My room is 20x14.

I plan on going with an Epson 8350 with a 100" Jamestown screen.

I think for my uses (a 5.1 sys) I am going to go with the following speakers:

Monoprice 4101's for L and R

Monoprice 4881 for the center

Monoprice 4104's for the rears

I don't know what kind of receiver to get or sub so feel free to throw out opinions on those too.

Will this set up be enough for the room size? I have read most of the thread on monoprice speakers and this sounds like it should work just fine. Thanks!

Sad that you spend so much on display and so little on audio. I suppose it's better than no sound at all.

I am not an audiophile by any means but I will take suggestions for something better instead of snarky comments. My budget for speakers is in the neighborhood of 500-1000 bucks.

So not counting a reciever, you have up to 1000 dollars to spend on speakers/sub? As a side, I agree with the above suggestion that your budget us out of whack... But it is your money.
Some suggestions;
Klipsch 12inch sub, 300 dollars
Ascend acoust cbm170 fronts (300/pr)
Matching cmt340 center (300)
Cheap surrounds or get them later!

Set up #1: EMP e5ti, e5Ci, and SLS Q line Audio surrounds, EMP 10i10i sub
Set up #2: Def Tech SM450, CLR2002, SLS Qline surrounds and Klipsch 12wD sub
Set up #3: JBL130, JBL120C and Klipsch synergy sub
