Hi All

I am currently in the process of rebuilding my home - currently done with framing and starting LV wiring. I have a couple of rooms where I am planning to install in-wall (LCR) and in-ceiling speakers ( Rear). A few questions:
~
In the great room ( FR + Kitchen), the room is approximately 32'x18'x10' We would like to use the room mostly for HT viewing (55" LCD) with most viewing at 14' . Planning a budget of $2.0K for 7 speakers ( LCR + 4 rear, I do have a nice subwoofer) but can go higher ( or lower).

Recommendations for LCR speakers where the grille's can be painted ?

OR

3- CINEMA LCR1 The new Cinema LCR is designed to provide outstanding performance in a home theater system while maintaining a slim profile on the wall. The advanced custom-designed drivers, crossover and full MDF enclosure combine to reproduce wide dynamic range film soundtracks and music with startling clarity and realism. Cinema LCR is a symmetrical array, allowing it to be positioned vertically or horizontally without a compromise in performance.

My neighbors use Paridigm and I think they sound good and they are very happy. I think there the CS series. One actually painted his grills to blend with front wall.

We use James Loudspeaker and love them.

I would look for a speaker that is enclosed (v.s. an open baffle design). Especially if the room these are being installed in have room on the opposing walls.

I use these and am very happy:

The RLS III model is in your budget and you should be able to find them for under $400 shipped each.

Many other companies offer backer boxes as well. I would also look into Atlantic Technology, and Episode. You may have to stretch the budget a little for those other brands smile.gif
