Hello all smile.gif, I have been lurking this forums in order to decide which Entry home theater to begin with, I m pretty much set on the receiver and I would go for Denon AVR 1612, the second question is for the speakers I have two options from Paradigm dealer in Kuwait for 5.1 package:
CT 70 335 USD
CT 100 515 USD
cant really listen to them atm because they are renovating their demo room.

so what u guys think? is the price difference worth it?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

IMO, no. The subs and speakers from both series have very comparable specs, so you're likely to get very comparable performance.

Good choice on the 1612. smile.gif

Honestly, at that size of driver you really wont notice too much of a difference. With that price range I would end up with a nicer 2.1 system but if you are dead set on 5.1 then just nab the CT70!

$335 for a 5.1 package seems reasonable.

My two cents... Polk audio makes some very good speakers. They seem to be ALLOT of peoples first "good speakers" or their first set of "real speakers." My impression is most people move away from them after a few years though...

I am sure some Polk peeps will correct my ignorance..but that is my general impression of Polk. They are good for the money speakers... For $235 it is hard to go wrong... Ask about the return policy and try them out.
