Today was a good day. I went back to Quest For Sound in Bensalem, PA - where I purchased a TT last month - to audition a bunch of bookies.
Stephen has 3 little rooms and a big room. I went to listen to a set of the Paradigm Studio 10, and went home with some amazing KEF LS50 speakers.
The Studio 10s are nice, quite musical. I may have even purchased them. Prolly should have!
But I had to hear the KEFs. The rest is history.
They were supposed to be a part of a 2.1 listening room.
This room will now be just 2.0! These KEFs will get the job done.
-Peachtree Nova 125 from HiFi House in Delaware (local to me store, Anthony)
-KEF LS50 Anniversary Model Monitors
-VPI Traveler TT
-2M Blue Cart
-Cambridge 651P preamp (TT)
-Apple TV -> fiber into the Nova
Nothing amazing about these pics, but these boxes are so unique, I wanted to share!
Unboxing of the KEF LS50 speakers:
Average to above avg packaging job. Nothing like when I opened up my VPI Traveler Turntable, that was ridiculous. But these speakers were safe and sound in the box.
They are close to 16lbs each
11.9 x 7.9 x 10.9 in.
Amplifier requirements 25 - 100 W
I will be fueling them with the Peachtree Nova 125, which is 125x2
They sounded A M A Z I N G in the store. Like no other bookshelf I've ever heard.
FULL sound that you just can not hide from.
How do they sound at home?
UMMM yea, we're gonna have to have you come in on SATURDAY.
The Nova will not be here for 4-5 more days.
I recently bi-amped the mains in the media room, so I can't easily hook these KEFs up in there.
They are giant paper weights right now, on the desk in my office. Unreal.
I just don't have an easy way to get these bad boys some fuel right now!
AAHHHH!!! Patience right? Sure, but I don't have a choice;)
