I'm beginning to buy a HT setup piece by piece over the next year or so. I haven't figured on a reciever yet but planned on doing Polk Monitor 60s L/R, a Polk CS2 center, a BIC F12 or Klipsch RW-12D for a sub, and also haven't decided on the rear speakers as they will come last.

So here's my question; How would a Polk monitor 15C pair with the monitor 60s compared to the CS2? The 15C just happens to be on sale for $80.

I plan on doing a dimensional write up on my living room also to see if these speakers would work well. I'm definitely an audio newby so thank you for your help.

I'm not familiar with the Polk centers, but those Monitor 60s are no slouch - I wouldn't skimp on the center.

A general rule of thumb is that you should spend at least half as much on your center as you did your FL/R speakers. The center does ~80% of the work in a HT you want it to be quality.

I would imagine the older and newer monitor speakers should match fine, since really there is only cosmetic changes (and a couple drive orientations). As Alan said, it's probably a good idea to get the bigger 25C, but either one will match fine.

I think that the 15C would be a good choice.

I have never liked the CS2, personally.

If you want a really excellent center speaker that is relatively small, I would recommend the Cambridge S50; but it is more expensive.

The CS2 is the matching center and what I would recommend the 15c would be a step back
