As long as the avr has the current to drive the load and do not distort then yes they will sound the same. I have a 3313 and I like it. Movies are loud, the MultEQ XT is pretty good for people that dont know how to tweak systems or just dont want to. Its on you to decide if you like the sound with the processing, not everyone does. Denon owns marantz so the components inside are quite similar. In a not from the manufacturer the marantz has an upgraded circuitry. Other than that there shouldnt be much of a difference.

On a side note the 3313 is more similar to the 7007.

Can't live without music.
While I'm waiting for my sr5007, I purchased to return Onkyo TX-NR626.

This thing outperforms Cambridge azur 640r

Music sounds more pleasant and more instruments can be heard.
