I finally had a chance to sit down in the quiet and listen to some music. Well, to start off, I'll say I'm a little disappointed, but I shouldn't expect much for $440.

The highs are too harsh, and feels a bit lacking at times. (I know this is the "Polk" sound)
It felt like the mids and the highs were clashing, it wasn't very clear, like they were fighting each other.
Mid bass is great biggrin.gif

My music just isn't as clear and full as I thought it would be. For example, if I listen to a rock song, the drum cymbals and guitar would essentially take over everything, don't know how to explain it, just didn't sound too good.

Guess I'll save up for some PSB Imagines!

What were you using to feed music to the speakers?

What amp/receiver were you using?

Have you attempted to use the EQ on the receiver?

I have found with Polks for music I just keep the grills on, don't angle them to the listening position, and lower the treble by one notch the highs are smoothed out

iPod Touch connected with line out USB cable playing all ALAC files

Pioneer SC-1222-K

MCACC set the EQ, but I guess I could reduce the treble and see if it improves a little.

Yeah I would reduce the treble also make sure your volume on the ipod is not at the max level as well you want it at 80-85% max
