Since moving, and changing my speaker wires from 14 ga. to 16.ga, I do not seem to be getting the fidelity and sound transparency that I used to get with the heavier 14ga.
Could this be the problem, or is it the quality of the wires that might cause the degradation in sound quality? I'm driving them with a NAD 7100 with internal preamp.
Thanks for helping me out,

BBBOB

No one can hear the difference between 14 and 16 ga wire. But moving into a different room will make a major difference. Even moving the speakers in the same room will make a difference. Here's why:

ok, Thanks Bill. I was afraid of that. I do noticwe a big difference when moving them out of the corners to a flat wall, or to a carpeted room. I want to put them against the ceilng in the corners of the room. Any problems with that? (other than the weight?

No problems, so long as they're aimed downward and inward at the LP. Heresy's benefit a lot in the lows from corner placement, so it you're running without subs that's probably the best place for them.
